Class 10 students assaulted in Bihar, three arrested as incident sparks political row

Police in Bihar's Jamui district registered a suo motu case and arrested three persons after a video showing a Class 10 girl and boy being assaulted near a coaching centre went viral on social media. The incident triggered sharp political reactions, with Congress leader Rahul Gandhi criticising patriarchal attitudes and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav attacking the state government for failing to maintain law and order.

The National Commission for Women directed support for the affected teenagers and called for steps to prevent further circulation of the video. Police said the assault occurred while the students were returning from coaching classes in the district.
