Railways to upgrade electrification on 596 km of Delhi-Mumbai route for Vande Bharat trains

Indian Railways has announced plans to upgrade electrification infrastructure across 596 kilometres of track on the Delhi-Mumbai route. The project aims to enable the operation of Vande Bharat trains and support higher speeds of up to 160 kmph on this busy corridor.
The electrification upgrade is part of broader efforts to modernise India's rail network and improve connectivity between the national capital and the financial hub. The infrastructure enhancement will allow for faster and more efficient train operations on one of the country's most-travelled routes.
The move aligns with the government's push to expand Vande Bharat services across major routes and enhance passenger experience through upgraded rail infrastructure.
