Rajasthan Minister Booked After Viral Audio Row, Gautam Dak Calls Clip ‘Doctored’

A political controversy has erupted in Rajasthan after police registered a case against State Cooperation Minister Gautam Dak over allegations of verbally abusing police personnel and obstructing official duty. The FIR was lodged at Dungla Police Station following the circulation of an audio clip on social media that allegedly captured the minister using abusive language against policemen.
According to police officials, the incident is linked to a local inquiry involving a man identified as Dhanraj Kharol, who had reportedly been called to the police station for questioning in a case. Investigators claimed that instead of cooperating with authorities, attempts were allegedly made to exert political pressure on the police team.
In the complaint filed by Station House Officer Shaitan Singh, it was alleged that the minister summoned two constables outside the police station on May 25 and publicly humiliated them in front of local residents. The FIR further stated that the minister allegedly used threatening language and attempted to intimidate officers while they were carrying out official responsibilities.
Police sources said the matter was later escalated to senior officials, after which a formal case was registered and transferred to the CID-CB wing for investigation.
Reacting to the allegations, Gautam Dak rejected all claims against him and insisted that the viral recording was fake. The minister alleged that artificial intelligence and modern editing tools had been used to manipulate his voice in the clip being circulated online.
“My voice has been altered through misuse of technology in an audio circulating on social media. I have no connection with this edited audio,” Dak said while denying any wrongdoing.
