RBI to issue ₹1 trillion bonds to drain surplus liquidity

The Reserve Bank of India will issue bonds worth one trillion rupees as part of its liquidity management strategy for the banking sector. The move comes amid growing inflationary pressures linked to elevated oil prices.
The RBI indicated that multiple liquidity absorption tools remain available for deployment. The bond issuance follows a lukewarm response to earlier liquidity absorption measures undertaken by the central bank.
