Telangana CM Revanth Reddy Promises Cabinet Berth to Congress Candidate Who Defeats KTR

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy made an aggressive political pitch in Sircilla, challenging Minister K.T. Rama Rao's stronghold by promising a Cabinet berth to whichever Congress candidate defeats KTR in the constituency. Addressing a public meeting, Reddy described the region as a place where "courage and devotion come together" and referenced its legacy tied to the Vemulawada Sri Rajarajeshwara Swamy temple and historical struggles against the Nizam and Razakars.
Reddy highlighted Sircilla's historical association with the textile industry, noting that thousands of families depend on handloom and powerloom weaving for their livelihoods. The region is renowned for producing finely woven sarees, some thin enough to fit inside a matchbox. He questioned why handloom-worker suicides and migration to Gulf countries had continued despite KTR representing Sircilla since 2009. Reddy also criticised the previous BRS government's handling of migrant workers, claiming families of workers who died abroad faced difficulties in bringing bodies home.
As part of the campaign outreach, Revanth Reddy, accompanied by ministers, MLAs and officials, laid foundation stones for multiple administrative and infrastructure projects in the region. These included RDO offices in Sircilla and Vemulawada, Tahsildar offices in multiple locations, a Sub-Registrar office in Vemulawada, and a 10,000-metric-tonne-capacity godown with associated facilities in Rudrangi.
