Sabarmati to get Rs 307-crore maintenance hub for 24-coach Vande Bharat trains

Indian Railways is set to establish a Rs 307-crore maintenance hub at Sabarmati specifically designed for the new 24-coach Vande Bharat trains. The facility will handle servicing and upkeep of the extended version of India's premium semi-high-speed train service.
The 24-coach Vande Bharat represents an upgrade from the earlier 16-coach configuration, offering increased passenger capacity. The dedicated maintenance infrastructure at Sabarmati will ensure efficient operations and timely servicing of these trains.
This investment reflects Railways' commitment to expanding and maintaining its modern fleet of indigenous train sets. The Vande Bharat trains have been a flagship initiative to provide enhanced passenger comfort and modern travel experience across Indian routes.
