SP in turmoil as Rajya Sabha pick Dhanraj Nathwani praises PM Modi

Samajwadi Party leaders have drawn criticism after Dhanraj Nathwani, the party's Rajya Sabha nominee, publicly praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The move has sparked internal discontent within the SP, while rival parties have seized on the moment to target the regional outfit.

Nathwani hails from a Gujarat-based family with established proximity to PM Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah. His father, Parimal Nathwani, was elected to the Rajya Sabha three times as an Independent candidate from Jharkhand, backed by the BJP.

The praise has drawn sharp reactions from SP cadres, while opposition parties have used the development to question the party's political positioning. The incident underscores tensions within the Samajwadi Party over its candidate selection and ideological alignment.
