Supreme Court rejects panel's request for six more months to define Aravali hills and ranges
The Supreme Court has rejected a request by a panel for six additional months to define the boundaries and geographical features of the Aravali hills and ranges. The court refused to grant the extension that the panel had sought to complete its work on delineating the Aravali region.
The Aravali mountain range spans across multiple states including Rajasthan, Haryana, Delhi, and Gujarat. The definition of its precise boundaries has been a matter of concern for environmental protection and land-use planning in the region.
