Shiv Sena upset over CM's unilateral decision to relax Marathi rule for autorickshaw drivers

Shiv Sena has expressed displeasure over what it terms the Maharashtra Chief Minister's unilateral decision to relax the mandatory Marathi language requirement for autorickshaw and taxi drivers in the state.
Shiv Sena leader and Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik had previously announced a drive to ensure that commercial autorickshaw and taxi drivers speak functional Marathi. The party now claims it was not taken into confidence before the decision was reversed or modified.
The move has triggered tension within the state government coalition, with Shiv Sena questioning the process of decision-making on a matter its transport portfolio oversees.
