Singapore High Court dismisses Indian-origin CEO's suit to recover Rs 3.7 crore from ex-partner

An Indian-origin CEO in Singapore sued his former partner to recover approximately Rs 3.7 crore he claimed to have spent during their relationship. The CEO had paid for her life insurance premiums, settled debts, funded Feng Shui consultations for her home, and sponsored international trips.
The Singapore High Court dismissed the case, ruling that the payments constituted gifts rather than loans or financial obligations that could be recovered. The judgment underscored that personal spending during a relationship does not automatically create a legal right to reimbursement after separation.
