Left treated religion as opium, TMC aimed to make Bengal into Greater Bangladesh: CM Suvendu

West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari has attacked both the Left Front and the Trinamool Congress, alleging they have worked against Bengal's interests and religious values.
Adhikari claimed the Left dismissed religion as an "opium," while accusing the TMC of pursuing a separatist agenda aimed at converting Bengal into "Greater Bangladesh." His remarks underscore the political divide in the state between the ruling BJP-backed government and opposition parties.
