23 ITBP mountaineers reach 24,131-ft Mt Abi Gamin summit, unfurl Tricolour

A team of 23 Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) mountaineers successfully scaled Mt Abi Gamin, standing at 24,131 feet (7,336 metres), after weeks of gruelling expedition. The mountaineers reached the summit on September 16, facing extreme conditions including thin air, freezing temperatures, snow and glacier terrain.
The peak presented significant challenges with weather conditions changing rapidly at such altitudes. The ITBP highlighted that the expedition showcased the force's mountaineering expertise, determination and collective teamwork in one of the world's most demanding mountain environments.
