One in three TB cases in Northeast screening found asymptomatic
A large-scale tuberculosis screening initiative across Northeast India uncovered that more than one-third of detected TB cases in vulnerable populations showed no symptoms, underscoring the challenge posed by silent infections.
The proactive screening approach, which covered millions of individuals, is seen as critical for India's tuberculosis elimination targets. Artificial intelligence tools are now being deployed to aid early detection and facilitate timely treatment initiation across the region.
