Tej Pratap Yadav Jailed Over Bihar Bandh Support; Tejashwi Alleges Political Vendetta

Former Bihar minister Tej Pratap Yadav was sent to Beur Central Jail on Sunday after being arrested for supporting a state-wide bandh called by student unions over the NEET paper leak. His lawyer claimed the arrest was wrongful, noting Yadav was detained Saturday evening but the FIR was lodged only after midnight.
Tejashwi Yadav, RJD working president and opposition leader in the state assembly, rushed to his estranged brother's defence. Tejashwi alleged the BJP-led Bihar government was engaging in political vendetta and warned of launching a massive agitation if cases against bandh supporters were not withdrawn. He also claimed multiple party MLAs had been arrested for supporting the protest.
Tej Pratap Yadav, who now heads Janshakti Janata Dal, was booked under charges related to enforcing the bandh. His lawyer announced plans to move court for bail and highlight procedural irregularities in the arrest.
