Telangana Congress govt's Trump road naming draws criticism as anti-national

A spiritual columnist has criticized the Telangana Congress government's decision to name an important road after US President Donald Trump, questioning why India should honour a foreign leader who has made tariffs and critical remarks about the country.
The writer argues that naming roads and monuments after foreign leaders reflects sycophancy, especially when India has numerous national figures worthy of commemoration. The commentary contrasts this with naming roads after Indian political leaders like Nehru, Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi, saying foreign leaders who have not contributed to India should not receive such honours.
The piece emphasizes that patriotism and national pride are integral to Indian spirituality and culture. It contends that honouring a leader who has threatened and insulted India amounts to rewarding negative behaviour rather than reflecting genuine Indian values.
