Three Gujaratis missing in Ethiopia, abductors demand ₹1 crore ransom

Three Gujaratis have gone missing in Ethiopia while attempting to travel to the United States, with abductors demanding a ransom of ₹1 crore for their release. The missing individuals are Rutvik Jansari, Mamta Chavda, and Mayuri, who hail from Mehsana and Gandhinagar districts.
The three had departed on September 20 with assistance from travel agents as part of their journey to the US. They disappeared while in Ethiopia, which was part of their transit route to their final destination. The abduction has triggered concerns about the safety of Indian nationals using agent-assisted travel routes to reach foreign countries.
The ransom demand of ₹1 crore has been made by the abductors for the safe release of the three missing Gujaratis. The incident highlights the risks faced by individuals relying on agents to facilitate international travel.
