Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh and Tamil Nadu lead in subsidy spending, CAG report shows

According to the Comptroller and Auditor General report, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh and Tamil Nadu are the top three states in subsidy disbursement during 2024-25. The three states lead in financial allocation towards various subsidy schemes.

The CAG report indicates that subsidies constitute 13.5% of the total government spending across these states in the fiscal year 2024-25.
