UK PM Keir Starmer Hails England's 4-2 World Cup Win Over Croatia

United Kingdom Prime Minister Keir Starmer congratulated England on their 4-2 victory over Croatia in their FIFA World Cup 2026 campaign opener at Dallas Stadium in Texas on Wednesday. In a post on social media platform X, Starmer called it "a fantastic result" and "a performance to be proud of," expressing confidence ahead of England's next match against Ghana on June 23.
England's victory was built on strong performances from captain Harry Kane, who scored twice including a penalty, Jude Bellingham's impressive second-half strike, and a late goal from substitute Marcus Rashford. Croatia had briefly levelled the match through Martin Baturina in the 36th minute before England pulled away under manager Thomas Tuchel.
