CM Vijay condemns Stalin, DMK over derogatory remarks against women

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay on Saturday strongly condemned DMK chief MK Stalin over remarks made against TVK's Dharapuram candidate P Sathyabhama, describing them as "most indecent." The controversy arose when Stalin referred to Sathyabhama as "Somersault Bhama" during an election rally for the Dharapuram constituency by-election, prompting TVK leaders to accuse him of body-shaming the woman candidate.
In a post on X, Vijay accused Stalin of conducting "a defamatory and utterly uncivilized gathering" and resorting to "caricature mockery" of the candidate. Vijay characterized the DMK as an "evil force" and alleged that party leaders are "experts at speaking obscenely about women." He criticized Stalin's remarks as inappropriate, noting that such comments were made even with women present during the campaign meeting.
Vijay, speaking as "the son, brother, and younger sibling of Tamil Nadu's women," conveyed his "strongest condemnation" of the DMK's conduct. He stated that the people of Tamil Nadu and the Dharapuram constituency would deliver a "fitting retort" to such behavior, asserting that citizens would respond appropriately to the party's actions toward women.
