Government raisin processing unit opens in Vijayapura to reduce farmer transport costs

A government-run raisin processing unit has been established in Vijayapura to help farmers reduce transportation expenses and dependence on private processors. Previously, farmers had to transport their produce to Sangli or Pune in Maharashtra or pay higher rates at private processing units in their region.
The facility is expected to enable local grape farmers to process their harvest into raisins more affordably, improving their profit margins and reducing logistical burdens.
