Worms Found in Mid-Day Meals at 75 Bihar Schools, Students Refuse Food

A serious food safety issue emerged in Bihar's Arwal district after worms were discovered in mid-day meals served to students at 75 schools on Tuesday. Children spotted worms in vegetables, soybean curry, and rice, and refused to eat the contaminated food. Videos showed students discarding their meals into dustbins.
The Royal Manav Mitra Seva Samiti, the agency supplying meals in Arwal, had distributed rice along with soybean and potato curry that day. The incident prompted Bihar's education department to order an immediate investigation. Arwal education officer Asgar Hussain stated that strict action would be taken against the supply agency if negligence or fault is established, emphasizing that there will be no compromise on children's health.
