25-Foot Floral Bathukamma Draws Crowds At Navratri Celebration In Bhiwandi

A 25-foot-tall floral Bathukamma emerged as the focal point of Navratri celebrations held at Padmanagar in Bhiwandi. The event was organised by Shri Markandeya Mahamuni Vachanalay Samiti and Swabhiman Seva Sanstha to commemorate the library's 25th anniversary. Women in traditional attire gathered around the ornate floral arrangement, participating in folk songs and circular dances as part of the festivities.
The organisers noted this year's celebration was held on a grander scale compared to previous modest observances, coinciding with the library's silver jubilee. The colourful Bathukamma drew large numbers of local residents, immersing the Padmanagar area in cultural atmosphere.
BJP corporator Santosh Shetty praised the event, stating that promoting Telangana's cultural traditions on such a scale in Maharashtra reflected cultural unity and regional pride. Municipal officials and corporators including Rajita Konda, Sumit Patil, Preeti Jagatap, Suvarna Mhatre, Mahendra Gaikwad and Shashilata Shetty attended. Participants received turmeric, kumkum, pulihora prasad and gifts at the programme's conclusion.
