Sharad Pawar Says Demand for CEC's Removal Extends Beyond Mumbai

Nationalist Congress Party (SP) chief Sharad Pawar on Sunday said demands for action against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar were not limited to Mumbai, but were also being raised in Pune, Nagpur and other parts of Maharashtra.
Pawar's remarks came after MNS chief Raj Thackeray and Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray led a joint protest march in Mumbai against alleged voter list irregularities. The "Garjana Morcha" drew large crowds near the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation headquarters.
Pawar said when political parties come together to find a solution and hold accountable those responsible for irregularities, the NCP-SP would extend its support. The state government is currently processing a Special Investigation Report (SIR) on the issue.
