Appoint Officer Like Tukaram Munde to Fix Chakan MIDC Crisis, Says Aaditya Thackeray

Shiv Sena (UBT) leader and Worli MLA Aaditya Thackeray visited Chakan MIDC on Independence Day and met industrialists facing issues with roads, traffic, electricity, drainage and administrative clearances. He alleged poor infrastructure, lack of inter-agency coordination, and corruption were driving businesses away, suggesting the government appoint an officer like IAS Tukaram Munde to address the crisis.
Thackeray said 20 industries in Chakan had declared intent to relocate, calling it an unfortunate situation. He linked this to broader employment concerns, citing a Lok Sabha reply showing around 35,300 industries had shut down or left Maharashtra in five years. Industrialists, he said, were not seeking major concessions but basic facilities like security, power and proper roads.
