Aaditya Thackeray backs Pune MPSC protest, urges hunger strikers to end fast

Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aaditya Thackeray expressed support for the ongoing MPSC student agitation in Pune on Tuesday while urging those on hunger strike to end their fast, citing health concerns. The protest, led by NCP (SP) MLA Rohit Pawar, has entered its sixth day with students demanding the resignation of MPSC chairman Vivek Bhimanwar.
Addressing the protesters, Thackeray said prolonged fasting at a young age could harm their health, though the fight would continue without the hunger strike. He emphasized that the students' primary demand was accountability in the commission's functioning and questioned who the actual target should be beyond Bhimanwar.
Thackeray linked the Pune agitation to broader concerns over institutional functioning, comparing it to national movements against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. He alleged both controversies threaten the future of young people in the country.
