BJP tries new approach to engage Gen Z protesters in Maharashtra
A prolonged student sit-in at Pune ended with the Maharashtra Public Service Commission chairman taking leave, marking a potential shift in how the ruling BJP responds to Gen Z activism in the state.
Following the 11-day protest, the BJP has announced measures including a campus elections panel and a BMC fellowship aimed at addressing youth grievances and channelling their participation through institutional frameworks.
The developments suggest the party is recalibrating its engagement with younger voters and protesters, moving beyond traditional responses to incorporate youth voices into governance structures and policy discussions.
