Disha Salian's father issues ₹500 crore defamation notice to Aaditya Thackeray, Anil Deshmukh

Days after the Central Bureau of Investigation named Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aaditya Thackeray in the Disha Salian death case, her father Satish Salian issued a ₹500 crore defamation notice against Thackeray and NCP (SP) leader Anil Deshmukh on September 16. Salian alleged that both leaders falsely portrayed his legal pursuit as politically motivated.

Salian's notice states that his complaint to police included specific allegations of gang rape, murder, destruction of evidence, and named multiple persons requiring investigation. The notice highlights that the CBI FIR subsequently named Thackeray and referenced suppression of material facts. It emphasizes that Salian's petition was filed as a father exercising constitutional remedies, supported by documentary and electronic evidence placed before the High Court.
