Centre revises Char Dham road plan after Uttarakhand floods

The Centre has reworked its Char Dham road development plan following recent floods in Uttarakhand. Detailed project reports for five stretches on the pilgrimage route have been reviewed, with proposals for narrower road configurations to mitigate environmental impact.
The Netala bypass project has been put on hold pending a detailed investigation into flood-related concerns. The Centre informed the Supreme Court of these modifications, signalling a recalibrated approach to infrastructure development in the flood-prone region.
