Priyanka Chaturvedi Calls Shinde's 'Operation Tiger' An 'Operation Betrayal'

Mumbai: Shiv Sena (UBT) Rajya Sabha MP Priyanka Chaturvedi on Wednesday strongly criticised the reported move by several MPs from the Uddhav Thackeray-led faction to align with the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena, calling it "Operation Betrayal" instead of "Operation Tiger" as termed by the rival camp.
Chaturvedi pointed out that the original party split had already resulted in the Shiv Sena name and election symbol being allotted to the Shinde faction, with legal battles continuing before the Supreme Court. She alleged that MPs elected on the party's ticket won because voters placed faith in Uddhav Thackeray's leadership, and that switching allegiance betrayed the public mandate.
Chaturvedi challenged the rebel MPs to resign from their positions if they intended to change sides, asserting that elected representatives should not work against the leadership under whose banner they were elected.
