Class 12 Topper, Daughter of Kargil Veteran, Dies by Suicide in Dehradun
A 23-year-old woman, identified as Riya Kumari Thapa, has died by suicide at her residence in Dehradun, Uttarakhand. She left a note saying "I love you, Mummy, Papa. No one is at fault." Her mother discovered her hanging when she went to call her for lunch on Tuesday morning.
Thapa was the daughter of a 1999 Kargil War veteran and had topped her school with 97 per cent marks in Class 12. She was preparing for the NEET-UG re-examination scheduled for June 21, having failed to clear the medical entrance exam in her first attempt. Police investigations have not yet identified any apparent reason for the incident.
