Congress flags 2.06 crore voter exclusions in Maharashtra, seeks probe

The Congress party has raised concerns about approximately 2.06 crore voter exclusions in Maharashtra's electoral roll, calling the scale "alarming." In a letter to Chief Electoral Officer S. Chockalingam, the party objected to the ongoing Supplementary Elector Roll (SER) process, warning that a large number of voters could face disenfranchisement.
The Congress sought a two-month extension of the claims and objections period to allow citizens more time to address potential wrongful deletions from the voter register. The party has demanded an investigation into the exclusions.
