Consumer Rights Group Warns Against Transferring FDA Commissioner Mundhe

A consumer rights organisation in Pune has strongly opposed speculation about the possible transfer of Maharashtra FDA Commissioner Tukaram Mundhe. The Akhil Bharatiya Grahak Panchayat announced plans for a signature campaign and said it would send a letter to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis urging the government to reject any transfer.
Since his recent appointment, Mundhe has intensified the FDA's crackdown on food adulteration and illegal activities, conducting regular raids and seizing goods worth crores of rupees. According to the organisation, some trading community sections are pressuring the government to transfer him due to these enforcement actions.
The organisation's representative said it fully supports Mundhe's administrative approach and will create consumer awareness to oppose any transfer move.
