Bhiwandi Court Reserves Order on Anticipatory Bail Plea of Former BJP MLA Narendra Pawar in Gang Rape Case

The Bhiwandi Additional Sessions Court on Thursday heard arguments on the anticipatory bail plea filed by former Kalyan West BJP MLA Narendra Pawar in connection with allegations of gang rape of a 22-year-old woman at a farmhouse in Bapgaon, Bhiwandi taluka. The court reserved its order after hearing submissions from both the defence and investigating officer.
During the hearing before Additional Sessions Judge A. A. Karande, Pawar's counsel questioned aspects of the complainant's account, including why she did not immediately seek help if she had recorded a video. The investigating officer countered that the woman was frightened after the alleged incident. Police also submitted that the farmhouse had remotely operated doors and a signal jammer allegedly installed, which may have prevented immediate communication.
Parwar and dismissed police personnel Shailesh Patil have been named as accused in the case registered at Padgha police station. Both have remained unavailable to police, according to the investigator.
