Fadnavis Dismisses Rahul Gandhi’s Prediction On PM Modi, Says ‘Wishful Thinking Won’t Change Political Reality’

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Wednesday took a swipe at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi over his remarks about Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s future in office, saying such predictions have been made repeatedly over the last decade but have failed to come true.
Responding to Gandhi’s comments, Fadnavis said the Congress leader appeared to be trying to boost the morale of his party workers by suggesting that a major political change could take place within the next year. He argued that similar forecasts had surfaced many times in the past, yet Prime Minister Modi continued to strengthen his political position and achieve new milestones.
“Rahul Gandhi is presenting a scenario that he hopes will become reality, but such claims have been made for years without any result,” Fadnavis said. “Every time these predictions emerge, the political outcome turns out to be very different.”
The Chief Minister pointed to the BJP’s recent electoral successes and said the party’s performance had surprised many political observers. According to him, the victories demonstrated that public support for Prime Minister Modi and the BJP remained strong despite repeated claims by opponents that the government was losing ground.
Fadnavis also suggested that Gandhi’s remarks were aimed at keeping hope alive among Congress supporters rather than reflecting the political situation on the ground. “These statements are based more on expectations than realities,” he said. “The people of the country have repeatedly shown their faith in Prime Minister Modi’s leadership.”
The BJP leader further noted that Prime Minister Modi has continued to reach new milestones during his tenure and recently became India’s longest-serving elected Prime Minister in continuous office, a development that the ruling alliance has celebrated as a significant political achievement.
