Eight-year-old girl dies after treatment at unlicensed Vasai clinic; practitioner booked

An 8-year-old girl, Mariyam Mohammad Ansari, died in Vasai East after receiving treatment at a local clinic run by an unlicensed practitioner. On September 28 evening, the child was taken to Rahul Clinic in Rajavali Palnagar with vomiting complaints. The practitioner, Dhupchand Nishad, prescribed pills and administered two injections. The next morning, the girl began bleeding from her nose and mouth and died shortly after.
Following a complaint by Vasai-Virar Municipal Corporation medical officials, Valiv Police booked Nishad for fraud and practising medicine without a valid licence. Municipal inspections revealed Nishad held only an Electro-Homeopathy certificate but lacked recognised qualifications from the Maharashtra Medical Council. He was allegedly procuring and practising with allopathic medicines without authorisation. The practitioner denied the allegations and said truth would emerge after investigation.
