Pune Police Constable Found Dead After Two-Day Search; Suicide Suspected

A Pimpri-Chinchwad Police constable, Vijay Koli, was found dead near a bus depot in Transport Nagar, Nigdi, on Saturday morning after a two-day search. Koli, who worked as a Radio Telegraphic Police Constable at the police commissionerate headquarters, had left home following a domestic dispute and taken his service pistol with him.

Police launched an extensive search after learning of the missing weapon. Teams searched the Durga Devi Hill area in Nigdi and deployed drones, but the operation initially yielded no results. According to preliminary investigation, Koli died by suicide after shooting himself in the head with his service pistol.

The body was sent for postmortem examination. Police are investigating the exact circumstances and reasons behind his death.
