Kalyan East To Get Country's First Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Armada Memorial

Kalyan East will host India's first Armada Memorial dedicated to the naval legacy of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, planned on a hillock at Kachore-Nativeali. The project aims to showcase Shivaji Maharaj's maritime vision, naval strength and introduce younger generations to this chapter of Indian history.
Kalyan MP Dr Shrikant Shinde has directed the Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation to conduct surveys and initiate planning. The memorial will feature large-scale warship replicas, documentation of the Maratha naval force's evolution, and a grand statue of Shivaji Maharaj as its centrepiece.
The project is intended to preserve the naval legacy and present it accessibly to students and visitors, highlighting how Shivaji Maharaj's maritime strategy reflected his approach to securing the coastline and strengthening sea power.
