Kalyan Police Recover 50 Stolen Mobile Phones, Return To Owners

Bazaarpeth police in Kalyan recovered approximately 50 stolen or missing mobile phones valued collectively at lakhs of rupees and returned them to their rightful owners. The devices were handed over during a programme at Bazaarpeth Police Station on Saturday, attended by Kalyan ACP Ashok Honmane and Senior Police Inspector Ganesh Nhayde.
The police traced the missing and stolen phones through technical investigation and the Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) portal, a government platform designed to help trace and block lost or stolen mobile devices. The recovery operation included phones traced to locations beyond Kalyan. Many owners expressed relief and gratitude, having nearly abandoned hope of recovering their devices.
ACP Ashok Honmane appealed to citizens to take precautions to keep their mobile phones safe and urged people to lodge police complaints promptly if their devices are stolen or go missing. He emphasised that timely reporting enables swift police action. The recovery initiative highlights the effectiveness of technology-assisted policing in tracing missing phones and the importance of citizens reporting losses without delay.
