Maharashtra Plans Annual Police Recruitment Calendar for Transparent, Time-Bound Hiring

Maharashtra Minister of State for Home Yogesh Kadam has directed officials to prepare an annual police recruitment schedule to make the hiring process more transparent, systematic and time-bound. At a review meeting held at Mantralaya, Kadam emphasised that effective planning should provide candidates clear information about timelines and adequate preparation time.
Kadam instructed officials to finalise the recruitment schedule strategically and coordinate written examinations and physical tests with Central Government security force recruitment drives. The meeting reviewed document verification, medical examinations, appointment procedures, and plans to fill vacancies in various police units arising from retirements.
Discussions also covered the capacity of 10 police training centres, infrastructure for trainees, women recruitment response, and coordination of recruitment for the State Reserve Police Force, Prisons Department, Home Guards and compassionate appointments.
