Maharashtra Court Staff Launch Second Phase of Protest Over Delayed Pay Revision

The Maharashtra State Judicial Employees Federation launched the second phase of its statewide protest on Friday, demanding pay-scale parity between subordinate court staff and High Court employees. Serving judicial employees participated by wearing black ribbons while continuing their regular duties.
The federation has been agitating since September 16, seeking the state government's approval for a proposed pay revision. The proposal has remained pending with the Chief Minister's Office since January 31, 2025, without final clearance. On Saturday, retired judicial employees are scheduled to stage one-day sit-in protests outside District Collectors' Offices across Maharashtra.
The federation has urged the state government to expedite the decision and approve the long-pending proposal. It has appealed to serving and retired judicial employees across Maharashtra to actively participate in the second phase of agitation, citing repeated failed efforts to secure approval for the pay scale revision.
