Maharashtra tightens redevelopment rules with video recording and two-year deadline

Maharashtra has implemented stricter redevelopment regulations requiring mandatory video recording of all projects and imposing a two-year completion deadline. The new rules aim to enhance transparency and accountability in the redevelopment sector, addressing long-standing concerns about project delays and oversight.
The video documentation requirement will create a comprehensive record of construction activities, while the fixed completion timeline is intended to expedite project delivery and reduce prolonged disruptions to residents.
