Maharashtra proposes scrapping 10-year transfer restriction on Dharavi homes

The Maharashtra government has proposed eliminating the 10-year transfer restriction on residential units in the Dharavi slum redevelopment project. Under current rules, beneficiaries of the scheme cannot sell or transfer their homes for a decade after receiving them.
The proposed change aims to ease restrictions on property ownership for residents participating in the redevelopment initiative. This modification could provide greater financial flexibility to beneficiaries and streamline the real estate aspect of the scheme.
