Maharashtra to revive student elections after 33-year gap

Maharashtra is taking steps to revive student elections on college and university campuses, more than three decades after they were last held in 1991. The state government is working to restore democratic participation in student bodies, which have remained dormant throughout this period.
The move aims to reinstate a democratic process that once allowed students to elect their representatives. Officials are preparing the framework and guidelines needed to conduct these elections across educational institutions in the state.
