Maharashtra Requests ₹17,500 Crore From Centre For Drought Relief

Maharashtra has sought ₹17,500 crore from the central government to address drought conditions across the state. The state government has also instructed collectors in Sangli, Satara and Pune districts to submit fact-finding reports following demands to include 10 talukas from these districts in the official drought-affected list.
The move is part of efforts to assess the extent of drought impact and secure adequate financial assistance from the Centre for relief and rehabilitation measures.
