Maharashtra allows voters to submit electoral documents via WhatsApp

Maharashtra's Chief Electoral Officer S. Chockalingam has directed election officials to accept voter documents via WhatsApp during the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.

The move aims to make the document submission process more accessible to voters. The initiative allows citizens to submit required papers through the messaging platform, streamlining the electoral registration process during the SIR phase.

This digital approach is intended to increase participation in the electoral roll revision exercise and reduce procedural barriers for voters seeking to register or update their details.
