Three simultaneous MPSC protests erupt in Pune over exam pattern divergence

Three separate protests by Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) aspirants broke out simultaneously in Pune on Saturday over disagreement on examination patterns. A fresh agitation at Alka Chowk demands continuation of the existing descriptive format, while another at Ahilya Library seeks a return to the objective pattern. A third protest led by MLA Rohit Pawar on S M Joshi Bridge, now in its third day, has unified one common demand: removal of the MPSC chairman.
Protest organizer Ajinath Kedar at Alka Chowk said students had invested over two years preparing under the current descriptive system and a sudden change would force them to restart. While supporting the demand to remove the MPSC chairman, Kedar clarified his group disagreed with Pawar's stance on altering the exam pattern, prompting them to launch a separate agitation.
The divergence underscores deep divisions among aspirants over how to restructure the MPSC Main Examination, even as removal of the commission's leadership remains a shared concern across all three groups.
