Bomb Threat Email Triggers Security Alert Across Mumbai Ahead of Independence Day

Mumbai was placed on high alert after a bomb threat email was received by the Mayor's office on Friday morning. The email, sent from an ID named "Dennis Lang," threatened to target the Mayor's office, Mumbai Metro, the Bombay Stock Exchange, and several schools. It also warned against attending Independence Day celebrations or using public transport.
Police and anti-terrorism teams launched extensive search operations at the Mayor's office, Metro stations, BSE premises, and schools. Sniffer dogs and detection equipment were deployed at all locations. No explosives or suspicious objects were found during the searches.
The Cyber Cell is investigating the email's origin and tracing the IP address. Officials suspect it may be a hoax aimed at spreading panic, but security measures have been heightened across the city ahead of Independence Day celebrations. The Mayor's office continued functioning normally despite the threat.
