Women's Role In Family, Society Highlighted At Mumbai Convention

Mumbai: Women play a crucial role not only in professional and public life but also in promoting positive values, responsible parenting and social awareness within families and communities, speakers said at Vishwamangalya Sabha's first 'Janpratinidhi Matru Sammelan' held at Y N Chavan Centre, Nariman Point on Tuesday.
Around 150 women elected representatives and wives of public representatives from Maharashtra attended the convention themed 'Stree - Parivar Ki Shakti Se Leke, Rashtra Ki Shakti Tak'. Mayor Ritu Tawde said women elected representatives face struggles three times greater than their male counterparts while balancing public responsibilities with family commitments. She also highlighted the often-unrecognised contribution of women in political families.
Union Minister of State Raksha Khadse emphasised that building a good generation must begin at home and said development cannot be measured only through infrastructure and economic growth but also requires strong, value-based families.
