Nashik Crime Branch Arrests Two Bangladeshi Nationals With Forged Indian IDs

The Nashik Crime Branch has arrested two Bangladeshi nationals, identified as Roni Abdul Sheikh and Ariful Ali from Noakhali district, for illegally entering India and residing in Nashik using forged identity documents. According to Assistant Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Sandeep Mitke, the duo entered India illegally through West Bengal before travelling to Nashik by train and settling in the Panchvati area.
During interrogation, police recovered forged Indian Aadhaar and PAN cards from the accused. Investigators also seized documents proving their Bangladeshi nationality, educational records, and Bangladeshi passports. The Crime Branch is investigating how they obtained fraudulent documents and whether they received outside assistance to establish false identities in the country.
The arrests come as Maharashtra authorities intensify operations against undocumented Bangladeshi nationals. Last month, Mumbai Police arrested six Bangladeshi nationals, including three women, allegedly staying illegally in Bhayandar, Thane district.
