Nashik MLC Poll Records 99.84% Voter Turnout; Counting Set for June 22

Voting for the Nashik Local Authorities Constituency seat of the Maharashtra Legislative Council recorded an impressive 99.84% turnout on Thursday, with 618 out of 619 eligible voters participating. Polling took place across nine designated centres in the district, with initially slow morning participation that picked up significantly by afternoon before closing at 4 p.m.
Vote counting will occur on June 22 when results will be officially declared. Among voters, 319 were women corporators and 299 male corporators. Eight polling centres achieved 100% voting, while one registered 98.81% turnout.
The election centred on developments within the ruling Mahayuti alliance, with Mahayuti's nominee Narendra Darade facing a contest after Gokul Gite initially entered the race. Gite later suspended his campaign following discussions with senior Mahayuti leaders. The opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi did not field an official candidate.
